In 48 BC, perhaps one of the greatest devastations to knowledge occurred. The burning of the Library of Alexandria. Since then, humanity has attempted to recreate similar collections time and time again.
This is one of those projects.
The LOA Press is a library in the making, which doubles as a small publisher for those seeking to share their own wealth of knowledge with the world.
Our library collection only accepts titles over 100 years of age at the time of submission.
Hopefully, with your help we will reach 1,000 titles to officially become a library.
If you are interested in submitting a title to the growing collection for preservation, please check out our submission section for more information.
Together, we can recreate and preserve new knowledge for generations to come.
Each accepted submission to the library receives lifetime preservation at no cost. You become a piece of our library with your submissions and help share knowledge with everyone who comes across your title. Submitting a title helps keep these precious pieces of history out of landfills and being lost to time. Submitted titles are never posted for sale and will be a part of the library for the lifetime of the institution.
Knowledge is power, and sharing the knowledge you may have with the world is the most powerful thing you can do. From viewing online through our upcoming Library Portal to museum tours for select titles, your gift will touch hundreds of thousands of lives over time.
Your name will never be forgotten with an optional dedication for all accepted submissions. You may change your dedication at any time, and wherever your title goes in the library or the world, your dedication will follow.
Only titles 100 years or older at the time of submission are accepted to The LOA Press.
Even if our curators don't speak every language, we accept every language for our shelves.
From novels to memoirs, textbooks to municipal records. Plays to zines, and even maps and music scores will find a place on the shelves of The LOA Press.
If your title is scannable without causing damage, it will be placed in line for its own spot in our upcoming Library Portal for free reading/viewing across the world.
So long as your title is free of mold, insects and residues, your submission has a high chance of being accepted.
Upon five accepted title submissions, you will have access to submit titles under the 100-year mark for placement in our nursery.
Using the form, send us information about your title and begin the submission process. We will look over your submission and get in contact if it's approved or denied. Please attach at least one photo.
Libraries, estate owners, stores and collectors- if you have a bulk submission, please attach snapshots of a few titles and an estimate of how many titles are in the collection.
Depending on the type of title submission, you will have a few options for getting your title to us. The most common is by secure mail shipment, which we cover all of the costs. If your submission is heavier than 70 lbs or extremely valuable and requires in-person pickup, we will work together to coordinate logistics and plan a pickup at no charge.
Once your title is added to our library, you can sit back and relax, knowing you've expanded the knowledge available to everyone in the world. Take the time to visit your title in our gallery and upcoming Library Portal (if applicable), plan out your dedication and prepare for your next title submission if you so choose.
The LOA Press publishes multiple collections throughout the year. Many are selections of work from our authors, though some are individual projects as well. If you're ready to become a published author and share your words with the world, consider submitting them to The LOA Press.
Depending on the time of year and the content of your approved submission, you will be sorted into an upcoming collection. This could be anything from a Springtime poetry collection to a horror and suspense short story collection. If your project ends up following the beat of its own drum, we may publish it as an individual works.
Now, it's our turn to take your story and turn it into a physical book. Once assigned a collection, you will receive your publish date. Then, your work will be live for purchase in our store! You can order your physical, wholesale-priced copies for personal sale whenever you choose. No royalties to deal with! As a thank you, all published authors receive a free copy of their collection or individual project.
With our collection growing, we are happy to accept submissions to the shelves. We have a few basic parameters for you to work within.
All accepted submissions will receive lifetime preservation, as well as an optional dedication.
US Libraries, we will come and take away your discarded antique titles! Authors, you will receive a response within 48 hours with the application to submit your work and collect our reading fee. Please do not attach your document using this form.
